Monument Advisor provides an electronic transaction platform that simplifies asset allocation and mass transactions. This section reviews what you need to know about trading funds in Monument Advisor, including the features of the transaction platform and our trading guidelines.

Electronic Trading

Providing online portfolio management tools is nothing new. But offering online tools that make managing variable annuity accounts this easy is certainly newsworthy. Jefferson National's secure site offers a Web-based contract management system that makes online trading a snap.

You can perform a host of activities—from creating and customizing asset allocation models to researching past account history and monitoring ongoing performance of your VA account.

Manage accounts online: Review entire account history online, including contract value, subaccount balances, contract statements and transaction confirmations.
Perform transactions: Move assets from one fund to another with just a few clicks.
Customize asset allocation models: Build, change and fully automate your own investment allocation models; use "model trading", or mass transactions, to simplify trading multiple funds simultaneously.

Transfers

Monument Advisor allows you to transfer money between certain funds at no cost,¹ as long as you follow the established rules (and those of our fund partners) against excessive trading. With the exception of the money market funds and certain other tradeable funds, Jefferson National Life Insurance Company blocks trades that are the second transaction in a purchase and sale involving the same fund in less than 7 calendar days (or other number of days dictated by the fund). Transfers into the fund, as well as contributions to or withdrawals from the contract can be made at any time. Our transactional site provides information on the different holding periods required for each fund on the fund transfers screen. Note that in addition to limitations imposed by our fund partners, we reserve the right to prevent transfers that we or our fund partners believe represent market timing activity.

Trading Deadlines

Trades received prior to 4:00 will be processed on the same business day. Certain Rydex funds have earlier trading deadlines as does the DireXion Dynamic VP HY Bond Fund. Our transaction site provides information on these exceptions on the fund transfers screen.
