Jefferson National Takes Two Top Honors in 2009 Summit Emerging Media Awards

Innovator of First Flat-Insurance Fee VA Recognized as "Communication Pioneer"

New York, NY and Louisville, KY - January 21, 2010 - Jefferson National, known as the innovator of the industry's first flat-insurance fee variable annuity,1 has taken two top honors in the 2009 Summit Emerging Media Award (Summit EMA) competition. Jefferson National was one of only three companies to earn a Summit EMA "Leader Award" for its B2B website, and one of only three companies to earn a "Leader Award" for its B2B Integrated Campaign. More than 600 entrants from the United States and 10 other countries from around the world submitted entries to the 2009 Summit EMA competition. According to sponsors of the Summit EMA, the competition was created to "Identify the world's communication pioneers. Those pushing the bounds of the communication badlands."

In the category of B2B Integrated Campaign, Jefferson National was recognized for the unique strategy, concept and message of its campaign highlighting "The Ultimate Retirement Vehicle," a no-load, tax-deferred Flat-Insurance Fee VA that has been "Ergonomically designed for your model retirement. It brings variable annuities back to what they should have been all along: low cost tax-deferral and more investment options."

Experienced interactive and creative professionals sit on the Summit EMA jury. They include creative executives, top strategists, directors and producers, working across the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa, in a diverse range of fields such as advertising, corporate communications, public relations, brand development, film production, animation, interactive media and web strategy.
